As I was abandoned by the family today, no reason not to spend the day on the bike. I left at 8, got home soon after 3. Managed to get the best part of 180km, but sadly, only around 2000m of climb.

I did my best to get lots of climbs – I think I did all the usual climbs, and followed the rule, no going down a hill without going up it. It’s not so much fun when you’re doing it on your own, but still better banking another 100-miler than not.
The sun was there all the time, at one point the Roubaix tyres were picking up rather a lot of debris, I can only assume they were melting on the hot roads. Should I bite the bullet and go ProRace3s?
